I write my first post hoping that the rain falling outside is snow higher up and will produce a skiable quantity. Over the past few months I’ve been seeing more and more photo’s of other clubs opening with upwards of 20kms of good track. Sadly my attempt to ski last week with Squeaky at Whistler Olympic Park resulted in nothing but some missing Ptex and a little sadness at having to change tips back to rollerski yet again.

Last weekend we attempted to run a silent auction and running race, on the same day. To start with, a little much considering it was our first for both. Luckily it wasn’t a complete flop with a large number of donated items from the community, many of which worth a considerable amount of money. We held the auction in conjunction with the Whistler Nordics ski swap. This both helped us get our name out into the community more and opened our eyes to how small of a group actually know we exist.

On another note, race suits and warm-ups should be in soon, logo’s are being put on right now, Apparently they look 100x better then they did in the sketch ups which is a good thing considering they look like a 10 year old design. Last week we got in our Halti over jackets, a bright orange down and a black and red waterproof shell. Both very nice. Last week all the Fisher skis and Swix poles showed up along with everyone’s Bliz glasses.

Last but not least, Movember, all the boys are taking part and growth is coming along well, photo’s to follow later in the month.
